A Review of the Orbit Baby Stroller Travel System

The super-stylish look is what really sets the Orbit Baby G2 Stroller apart from all other strollers on the market. There are so many amazing features we will discuss here. First of all, (as you probably already known) this stroller features a 360° rotation with 4 locking positions which can face back, front or either sides. There’s no need for a big parasol. Simply face the little one completely away from the direct sunlight.

The five second one-hand fold mechanism is something that has to be thoroughly examined since there’s a plastic lock on the same bar which rotates. As expected, this feature prevents it from accidentally closing on itself. Nonetheless parents want be able to easily apply the one handed folding of the stroller particularly in case they have in tow on the other hand the seat and the child sitting in it. It is equipped with an enhanced suspension system (when compared to earlier versions) on all 4 sides that the manufacturer dubbed the QuadShock. There are low-profile foam-filled tires – these tires really do contribute to a smooth and comfortable ride, regardless of the terrain. However, we have to say that it handles best on even surfaces.

The Orbit Baby G2 stroller is quite easy to assemble right out of the box. Just pull out the frame & snap on the 4 wheels until it clicks firmly into place. The toddler seat and infant car seat are basically fully assembled too. Parents will just have to snap on the bars into place along with the plastic piece holding the UV canopy & you’re all ready to go.

There’s one other problem with this high-end piece of baby product – there is no baby bassinet in the package. Parents will have to get the bassinet separately and, as expected, it’s not cheap at all. After all, no one is ready to pay a lot of cash for something that will be used only for half a year. It’s worth mentioning that the Bugaboo Cameleon features intelligently designed system around the aluminum frame that’s used to act as the toddler seat and also as the baby bassinet. Everything a parent has to do is swap fabrics on the frame. So once you’re all done with the bassinet function then it is possible fold the fabric flat and to keep it somewhere for the next child. The bassinet on this stroller does fold kind of flat. Unfortunately, it still is not compact in any way because it comes with its own frame. This is definitely something the manufacturer has to improve in case they plan to be as innovative as what the Bugaboo Cameleon had become.

Overall, this stroller is one other beautifully-designed high-end model. The Orbit Baby G2 does not look or feel flimsy. It’s quite simple and many stylish moms will like it. It’s much like the Mercedes of strollers. And like any Mercedes car, there are short-comings and also competitor cars with plenty more features and a more reasonable price tag. On the other hand, not everyone will ever come close to the superior design & simplicity of this stroller.

Mom’s final verdict…

As already mentioned it comes with a great, big comfy seat that doesn’t recline. It features a small amount of padding underneath; however is mostly a slung seat. Furthermore, the stroller supports a baby’s body well.

The sun protective canopy is surprisingly large for such an umbrella stroller. It provides enough coverage of the seat and springs back into place easily. The canopy also has a peek-a-boo window for parents to peek-a-boo at the little rascal.

The handles are very well insulated.

Unfortunately, on the Quinny Zapp there’s no storage space. It’s possible however to tie a baby bag over the back to keep diapers and other baby essentials when on the go.

The Quinny Zapp is the Mercedes among strollers when it comes to maneuverability. It steers one handed even with a 30 pound toddler and will push with one finger on a smooth terrain. What’s more, it has a very small turning circle and is ideal to maneuver in and out of the narrow store aisles at the supermarkets.

Finally, this unit is a quite good stroller to use, definitely among the best ones on the market today. It maneuvers very well, features a great canopy and a big comfy seat.

This non-traditional umbrella style stroller is by no means the lightest one on the market; but its compact fold makes it versatile and perfect for travel and short trips.

A Review of the Micralite Fastfold Superlite Umbrella Stroller

The Micralite Fastfold Superlite Umbrella Stroller was originally launched at the All Baby & Children’s Product Expo in Las Vegas USA in September 2009. We decided to try one out and we at umbrellastrollerguide.com have to say that it was quite interesting trying it out! We were amazed and overwhelmed by a lot of sides of this model and truthfully it wasn’t at all what we first thought it would be – this super-lightweight unit definitely isn’t a standard umbrella stroller!

Assembly was quite simple as well as straight-forward. We adjusted the air pressure in the big tires beforehand (a pump is included if one does not have an air compressor), popped on smaller front wheels, the protective sun-canopy and we were ready to go. It was that simple.

Mom’s final verdict…

The very first feature that struck us right away was the oversized wheels. A parent basically cannot find bigger air-filled back tires on a lightweight baby stroller. It is unheard of. Due to this great addition to the light-weight, this particular stroller has made perhaps the best umbrella stroller which functions on many different terrains and also makes pushing the little rascal a breeze. It’s much like Maclaren Volo, but with much bigger rear tires and a more durable structure.

The six inch swivel front wheels are a bit bigger when compared to most umbrella strollers and provide amazing handling in tight places such as narrow store aisles, while the twelve inches back pneumatic tires absorb jarring as well as small bumps with ease, keeping the child comfy while strolling along.

As one can notice, the one of a kind design itself is truly awesome! The intelligent sliding seat unit allows for a complete flat recline for ultimate comfort for sleeping infants or a full upright position for those toddlers who want to enjoy the view. The breathable mesh hammock style seat will keep little rascals cool, dry as well as comfy throughout long warm summer months. The safety five-point restraint system will keep kids secure as well as snug. Best of all, it isn’t prone to tangling.

We liked the height-adjustable handles. The unique design is more “square” when compared to a traditional stroller. On the other hand, strangely, this seems to assists with handling and even a four year-old will be able to push this on rough and uneven terrain quite simple – without any hassle. To adjust, one just unlocks the fast-release levers prior to raising the “bull horn” style bars from thirty seven inches to forty five inches.

The bar between the wheels is basically a locking mechanism. One pushes down to lock and lifts it up in order to release the hold. Closing is very easy and can be done with only one hand (a true lifesaver especially if watching a jogger and hanging on to the little rascal).

Weighing in at around fourteen pounds, this model is just perfect for taking on short or airplane trips. In case a family is going to the local park or any other place that requires a lot of walking, this umbrella stroller is a great, durable light-weight that can not be beat. It’s made to last for years!
